Gym challenges take you through a region's League path, from its Gym Leaders to the Elite Four and Champion. Each challenge has several battles, with route choices and recovery stops between them. Your party's condition carries from one fight to the next, so planning matters as much as picking strong moves.

Open the campaign

Use /gym campaign to open the campaign for your current region, starting at Stage 1. Choose a stage and difficulty from the campaign screen. Use /gym regions to view the regional map and your progress.

The Kanto path has 13 stages: eight Gym Leaders, four Elite Four members, and the Champion. On Pikacord Nightly, Kanto is currently available; Johto has not been released yet.

Choose your difficulty

Clear stages on Normal to move forward through the region. After you clear a stage on Normal, you can replay that same stage on Hard. Clear it on Hard to unlock Expert for that stage.

To open the next region, defeat the current region's Champion on Normal. Hard and Expert are optional challenges for stages you've already cleared; they are not required to continue to the next region.

Prepare your party

Choose your party before you start. You keep the same Pokémon for the whole challenge, and their HP and move PP carry between battles. You can't open your Bag during the challenge.

Check your moves and party order with /team view before entering. Bring Pokémon that can handle the Gym's type and more than one matchup; later opponents may use different types and moves from the Gym Leader.

Make choices between battles

The campaign screen shows the available paths. Some lead to another trainer, while others offer a rest stop, a shop, or a cache. At a rest stop, your conscious Pokémon recover HP and PP. At a cache, choose one of the rewards offered.

Use the buttons on the campaign screen to continue, travel, rest, or explore. /gym status shows your current position and party condition if you need to check before choosing your next step.

Know what happens to rewards

Defeating trainers adds rewards to your challenge. Beat the Gym Leader or Champion to finish the stage and receive its rewards; first clears can also award a badge. Rewards may include PokéDollars, League Points, Trainer EXP, and Pokémon EXP.

If you reach an exit, /gym exit lets you leave safely with the rewards you've collected so far. Leaving this way ends the challenge, but does not clear the stage. If your party is defeated or you abandon the challenge, its unclaimed rewards and pending Pokémon EXP are lost. EVs earned from defeated trainers are kept.
