Some Pokémon have more than one form. The difference can be cosmetic, or it can change types, stats, abilities, and evolution options.
Use /pokedex <pokemon> to see a species' forms. /info shows the form of a Pokémon you own.
Include the form when catching
When a wild encounter is a regional form, include the region in your catch guess. For Alolan Raichu, enter raichu alola in /catch; raichu alone won't match that encounter.
| Encounter | Name to enter in /catch |
|---|---|
| Alolan Raichu | raichu alola |
| Alolan Vulpix | vulpix alola |
| Galarian Weezing | weezing galar |
| Hisuian Zorua | zorua hisui |
An incorrect guess leaves the Pokémon available for someone else to catch. If a familiar name isn't working, check whether the encounter is showing a different form.
Other named forms
The same rule applies to forms identified by a name rather than a region:
| Encounter | Name to enter in /catch |
|---|---|
| Dusk Lycanroc | lycanroc dusk |
| Midnight Lycanroc | lycanroc midnight |
| Sensu Oricorio | oricorio sensu |
| Sunny Castform | castform sunny |
| Wash Rotom | rotom wash |
Use spaces between the species and form name. Supported names in other languages are accepted too.
Forms and evolution
A form isn't always a separate evolution. Check the species' Pokédex entry to see which forms are available and whether they have different evolution requirements.
