Game Mechanics Index Rebirth & RV System Evolution

Two Pokémon of the same species and level can have different stats. IVs, EVs, nature, and RV all help explain the difference.

Use /pokedex <pokemon> for the species' base stats. Use /info for the actual stats of a Pokémon you own.

What affects your Pokémon

FactorWhat it means
Base statsThe species' starting stat profile. Evolution or a different form can change it.
LevelStats grow as the Pokémon gains levels, up to level 100.
IVsValues from 0 to 31 in each stat, rolled when the Pokémon spawns.
EVsTraining points that affect particular stats.
NatureUsually raises one stat by 10% and lowers another by 10%. Neutral natures don't do this.
FriendshipA bond value used by certain evolutions and other friendship-related mechanics.
RVPermanent points you invest for an extra stat bonus.

Reading an IV percentage

IVs belong to the six individual stats. A total IV percentage is a quick summary, but it doesn't tell you where the points are.

For example, if you're choosing a physical attacker, compare its Attack and Speed IVs rather than looking only at the total percentage. /info shows the spread.

Training EVs

EVs come from battle or training. They let you focus on the stats you want a Pokémon to improve, rather than changing every stat equally.

Check the current EV spread before training so you know what the Pokémon has already gained.

Investing RV

Each RV point gives +2% to the chosen calculated stat. A Pokémon can hold 120 RV total, with no more than 30 in one stat. That makes the largest bonus to a single stat +60%.

Allocations are permanent. They stay with the Pokémon through evolution, form changes, trades, and market sales; you can't take them back or move them to another stat.

Standardized ranked battles disable RV bonuses without deleting the investment. Read Rebirth and RV for the costs, limits, and allocation commands.
